I visited Milan 4 years ago with two of my children- both art History major graduates. We have been to a lot of EU museums together. My own personal art guides! Milan was fabulous! We enjoyed Milan in 2016. I loved the roof of the cathedral. We could not get Last Supper tickets several months ahead of our trip so booked an art history tour which included the Last Supper.
- We took the fast train from Paris to Milano before meeting our Best of Italy tour in 2003. Beautiful city and magnificent The Last Supper. Thanks Rick for guiding us to where we were able to travel all over Europe!!
- We were privileged to be in Milan last November. The cathedral is magnificent, the galleria inviting ( yes, I twirled on the bull), but the Last Supper – awe inspiring. The size of the painting. The details. Takes your breath away. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to tell you how much I appreciate your travel shows, books and videos. Your piece above re: Milan is so well written, I felt like I was there with you. Thank you and keep up the great work!
- We’ve traveled extensively as expats and have been to Milan…the beautiful Duomo…gorgeous! Definitely a lot of shopping to be done in this part of Italy and although we did some window shopping, we mostly did a lot of eating and enjoying lovely wines in and around that area. Milano was our first introduction Italy. When I walked up the stairs from the metro and saw the Duomo I cried. I had arrived.
As a teenager in the early 80’s my father had a job that took him for business near Milano from our home in NY. In the summertime, we were fortunate that we were allowed to spend the entire summer there! I truly regard the Central Place as the most accessible city to voyage throughout Europe! From this city, a 3 hour drive in any direction connects you to an incredible array of locales.
My husband and I enjoyed meeting you by chance in a restaurant you suggested in Milan! However, the town was inendated with a reunion of the Alpine vets..we were not able to see the Duomo, or Leonardo’s masterpiece..but did enjoy a Campari or 2..hope to return someday..This was May of 2019.
