The owl’s ears are small and rounded, but when it is at rest the owl has a movable ‘teeth’ on its lower jaw which is used to hold the owl’s ears in place. The owl’s eyes are large and almond shaped and have two small pointed pupils in the middle. It has a thin eyelid with dark rings around the pupil that protects the eyeball from flying debris. The owl’s feet are long and strong, with little or no opposable toes. It has a thick claw on each foot that is used to grab its prey. The owl’s feet and talons are covered with soft hair similar to that of the cat’s. The owl’s hands and feet are webbed with short, fleshy claws on the front and hind legs and large rounded claws on the hind foot.
