In most drums and percussion are just as important as the drum itself. The oldest idioms in music are cymbals, and were used during the ancient Near East, very early in the Bronze Age. Cymbals are most closely linked to Turkish craftsmanship, with Zildjian (meaning “cymbals blacksmith”) having been concentrating on their production since 1623.
The pack of cymbals for beginners usually contains four cymbals: a large cymbals, a middle cymbals and a pair of hi-hats. Some packs contain only three cymbals, using a single big / middle cymb instead of its own big cymb and cymbals. Most drummers extend this by adding a middle cymb, a small cymb, a small Chinese / small cymb; or even all of the above.
