History has shown that after each party convention, voter support for the candidates increased by an average of 3 percentage points over the following weeks. Therefore, it is understandable when the rate of support for Mr. Trump has gradually increased during the congress days. But to catch up and surpass Mr. Biden, Mr. Trump will need big cards to win back the voter votes.
At this point, if there is anything Mr. Trump must regret, it may be the response to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite some correct initial steps, the lack of centralized leadership from the central government and self-response by states has made America the country most affected.
But the situation in recent days has shown better signs and if the epidemic improves, President Trump could declare his “policy” a success. Otherwise, perhaps other cards will have to be taken into account, such as permitting the use of the vaccines being studied even though it may be too early.
