The “exaggerated” version of this argument, as I’ve gathered on the internet, says that cats staring at us with those big eyes are because they’re actually alien cameras, gathers and sends information about human behavior to the “gray aliens” that send them to Earth. I couldn’t find evidence of anything other than that cats also have a normal biological brain, but who knows. Humans have recently been able to build a computer out of a living cell, so who knows what advanced technology is contained in a cat’s brain?
That aside, the idea that just because cats have better eyes than ours means they are more evolved is, of course, absurd. A cat’s eye has more string cells than cones – the first of which is responsible for black and white imaging, which makes them extremely important for night vision; the second type adds color and helps us distinguish details. Cats, obviously, have a better night vision, but whether they “look better” is up to your definition. I love seeing colors, so if I naturally had cat eyes I wouldn’t say I looked better.
